Washington State Schedules First Marijuana Auction 1

A marijuana grower in Washington state will stage a first-of-its-kind auction on Saturday. The lots will range in size from five pounds to over 100 pounds. The strains available include One Armed Bandit, Blueberry Purple Kush, Ace of Spades, T-N-T, White Dawg and Blue Dream.

Before making plans to attend the event scheduled for Saturday in Prosser, which is in eastern Washington, you’ll be denied entrance unless you are licensed by the state of Washington to produce, process or sell marijuana.

The owner of Firewood Farm, Randy Williams said he hopes to sell over 500 pounds at the first state-sanctioned marijuana auction. In an interview with the Oregonian newspaper, Williams said he’s had so many inquiries about the auction he’s worried about having enough parking spaces.

Williams main reason for having the sale is the difficulty he’s had determining the value of his product. He recently sold 68 pounds for $1,500 per pound. This will allow the marketplace to set the price for him and he won’t have to package it.

“I just want to get rid of it and take off and go on vacation for a while,” he said. “Whatever I get, I get.”
